We call it "multi-passionate with a purpose" 😂 We call it "multi-passionate with a purpose" 😂

The almighty “they” tell us to *pick one thing.* Pick a lane. Pick a career. Settle down. Stay focused. Stay in your box.

Cool story. 👍

Meanwhile, we’re over here planting onions, building a compost bin, sewing curtains out of vintage fabric, pressure-canning soup, and searching “how to drill a well by hand.”

And guess what?

None of it’s wasted.

Every so-called “distraction” is building something real. Something that feeds us. Because curiosity isn’t a defect in life. It’s a superpower.

And seriously, who made the rule that you can only do one thing at a time? In this life, you get to nourish yourself from *the whole f*cking buffet!* You get to learn and do and try and fail and try again…and it ALL counts.

So if you’ve been made to feel like you're “too much” or “all over the place” or some other label designed to dim your light—welcome. You’re in exactly the right place.

We were literally made to create, to grow, and to strive. Around here, "too much" is just right.

If you're someone who is out there pulling weeds in your PJ pants while the sourdough is rising and have 37 browser tabs open at once—we salute your beautiful chaos.

We don't call "a guy". We become "the guy". 💪 We don't call "a guy". We become "the guy". 💪

Believe it or not, we didn't get into this life because we love hard work for its own sake. We got into it because we got tired of paying someone to know things we were fully capable of learning ourselves.

If you're also one of the people who fixes it themselves purely out of spite for the quote they got and a refusal to outsource their knowledge, you're our people.

What we’ve been feeling lately can only be described as one thing: grief. And it’s terribly difficult to think about celebrating our country—even a country we love so much—while we also feel as though we are mourning the loss of it.

That’s exactly what we set out to explore in this piece, and we suspect we’re not the only ones dealing with this level of dissonance over the upcoming festivities. If you find it helpful, someone you care about might too—please pass it on. We need as many people as possible to keep believing in and fighting for what’s possible.

As always, the full essay—sourced and unedited for length—can be found on our Substack. Link in bio and always free.

Stay loud. Stay connected. And keep making good trouble that pisses off bad people.

Today was a lot. We’ve felt sick to our stomachs Today was a lot. We’ve felt sick to our stomachs all day.

In 2023, a jury found the president liable of SA. In 2024, a federal jury found the president guilty of continued defamation against the victim. Today, the Supreme Court refused to take up an appeal of that SA verdict—confirming, once and for all, that our president is a r*pist.

That same court then handed him even more unchecked power over the systems designed to protect Americans. More power than any president has held in nearly a century.

We are allowed to feel the full weight of that.

We are also not allowed to stop there.

While we're all cycling through yet another round of shock and grief and fury, the architecture of control gets another story built on top of it.

They are counting on our exhaustion. Do not give it to them.

Stay loud. Stay connected. Make good trouble that pisses off bad people.

You know that one person who just can’t let a ce You know that one person who just can’t let a celebration be about anyone or anything else but them? The person who turns every graduation, wedding, or holiday into a stage for their theatrics instead of a joyful experience for all?

Tomorrow, the whole country is getting a very public, very expensive version of that, right on the White House lawn.

But tomorrow isn’t anything new. In fact, it’s part of a pattern that’s been going on for a very long time.

And, if you’ve ever sat through a family gathering or event with friends that got co-opted by one person’s psychological need to be the center of everything—while everyone else worked to do damage control just to try to salvage the happier memories, this is probably going to feel very familiar.

This piece explains why that happens, and why being able to recognize and name the pattern beneath it is the first step toward escaping its harms.

Pass this along to someone who’s been there and needs to feel sane again because, right now…good grief…we all really, really need that.

Stay loud. Stay connected. And keep making good trouble that pisses off bad people.

Last year, a dear friend called to tell us he was Last year, a dear friend called to tell us he was thinking about hanging his American flag upside down on the front of his house—a universally recognized symbol of distress and political dissent. We both looked at each other with concern when we heard this. Not because we disagreed with the message he wanted to send. But because we were genuinely afraid for his family’s safety. We worried about the risks that might come with putting what essentially amounts to a bullseye on his home.

Our caution didn’t come from wanting him to stay silent in the face of injustice. It came from fear. And even though there were no direct threats, just the thought of what could happen was enough to make us hesitate.

And that’s the whole point, isn’t it?

That moment was an example of coercive control operating on a national level. It was the architecture of silence doing exactly what it was designed to do. Authoritarians don’t need to use force to achieve this. All it takes is the fear of uncertainty.

That’s what this one is all about—the psychology that’s used to make you go silent and become easier to control. You’ll find the full, unedited essay on our Substack with all sources—link in bio.

Right now, independent voices matter more than ever. We urge you to pass this on because every independent voice you amplify right now is an act of resistance against a strategy designed to make you go quiet and prevent the spread of information.

Stay loud. Stay connected. Make good trouble that pisses off bad people.
