We are having a STUNNER of a weekend with glorious We are having a STUNNER of a weekend with glorious weather that feels like summer never left us. ☀😎 We're taking advantage of it by getting some work done around the farm before the rain returns and it becomes much less enjoyable to be out in the cold. Ha!⁣ ⁣ One of the things I love about this point in the season is that our dinnerplate dahlias are cranking out incredible blooms right now. As we transition from summer to fall, I always fin As we transition from summer to fall, I always find that this time of year brings up a lot of emotion. Some people are giddy with happiness because this season is the gateway to the upcoming holidays. Others, however, might not share the same enthusiasm over saying goodbye to summer.⁣ ⁣ Part of the reason we decided to start our farm was because we wanted to live with more intention and mindfulness about what truly matters. We wanted to cultivate more joy and memories together. After all, we're here on this earth for such a short time, and it's important to us that we make the most of it while we can.⁣ ⁣ Looking back over this past season, we can see how making this choice is already changing our lives for the better. Building our farm is about so much more than just building a business. For us it's about cultivating a deep relationship with nature. This journey for us is very much a spiritual one. Our dahlias are not simply plants that we grow; they are part of our family. We spend the majority of our days with them, nurturing them, protecting them, helping them reach their potential. We talk about them. We talk TO them. They educate us, and we learn lessons about life. They grow, and we grow alongside them. And just like that, it's autumn! Our dahlia season And just like that, it's autumn! Our dahlia season has been SO abundant this year that it's kept us quite busy lately. The beautiful blooms are certainly keeping us on our toes!⁣ ⁣ This has been a wonderful season of learning for us, and we're grateful for the lessons the farm is teaching us. ⁣ ⁣ Our latest episode (link in profile) includes a candid conversation about a few things we've discovered in our first year of flower farming that just aren't working the way we'd like. The pace we're trying to work is not sustainable, and we know we're going to have to make some changes in order to have the growth we want next year.⁣ ⁣ This is all part of the process, though. Even when we go to bed exhausted or wake up far too early, we're still filled with gratitude for the chance to do this work and fill our soul in this way.⁣ ⁣ It's the good kind of tired. The kind that makes you know you're doing something meaningful.
